2026 New National Standard GB/T 15234-2025 | Acceptance Standard for Plastic Pallets

Starting from February 1, 2026, the procurement, acceptance, and quality inspection of plastic nonstop pallets will fully enter the new national standard era. The new national standard GB/T 15234-2025 “Plastic printing Pallets” completely replaces the 1994 version. Nonstop pallet has comprehensively upgraded in terms of size accuracy, structural strength, safety anti-slip, and inspection rules, and is more suitable for high-demand scenarios such as automated storage and retrieval systems, AGVs, intelligent warehousing, cold chain, food and pharmaceuticals.

I. Overview of the New National Standard – General Principles

Standard Name: GB/T 15234-2025 “Plastic printing Pallets”

Release and Implementation Date: Released on August 1, 2025, and officially implemented on February 1, 2026.

Scope of Application: Plastic nonstop pallets mainly made from materials such as HDPE and PP, manufactured through injection molding and blow molding processes. Other processes can be referred to for implementation. Industry Background: In 2024, the annual production of pallets in China was approximately 387 million pieces, and the market stock was approximately 1.82 billion pieces. Among them, plastic pallets accounted for about 18%, making them a key basic equipment in the logistics system.

II. Appearance inspection of plastic printing pallets:

The surface is smooth, without burrs or sharp edges, no cracks, no perforations, no obvious shrinkage marks.

The color is uniform. There is no significant color difference among the same batch.

No oil stains, scratches, etc.

For welded pallets: The weld seams are full, without voids, detachment, or leakage.

For assembled nonstop pallets: The structure is stable, without looseness, no exposed anti-slip pads/anti-slip patterns, which are intact and do not fall off or deform.

III. Dimensions and tolerance of plastic pallets: Length/width tolerance: ±3 mm;

Height tolerance: ±1.5 mm.

Diagonal deviation, flatness, and misalignment values shall strictly follow national standards.

The entry opening dimensions are uniform and compatible with forklifts, AGVs, and vertical storage shelves.

The single pallet weight tolerance: ±3% or ±0.5 kg (take the stricter value).

Ⅳ. Structure of plastic pallets and wall thickness: The wall thickness of the blow-molded pallet entry opening is ≥ 5 mm.

The planks, longitudinal beams, and spacer blocks are evenly thick and solid, without any wasted material or thin edges.

There are no steel pipes (if added) that protrude outward. They are centered and not exposed, without rust, no loosening.

The entire structure is without warping or side tilting. The stacking is smooth and does not get stuck.

V. Performance Acceptance of Plastic nonstopPallets

31

1) Stiffness: Bending stiffness, lifting stiffness, stiffness of longitudinal beams/brackets/padding boards/surface boards. After loading, the deformation shall not exceed 8mm. This ensures that the pallets will not deform during long-term use for heavy loads, shelves, and vertical storage.

2) Impact Resistance: Drop height of 0.5m (single corner drop three times). There shall be no cracking, severe deformation, or structural damage after the drop. Starting from February 1, 2026, all new purchases must comply with the new national standards. Old pallets can still be used, but new/replace recommendations are preferred to choose products that are compliant with the new national standards. For vertical storage, AGV, cold chain, and food industries, it is recommended to conduct full inspections to avoid rework and safety risks.
